1. Why is Hideaway becoming 18+?

We’re updating our age rating to meet emerging new guidelines for online games and social platforms. Hideaway has always had a predominantly adult community and that’s the type of player the game is built for, so making the rating 18+ brings the game in line with how it’s already being played.

2. What happens if I’m under 18?

If your account shows a date of birth under 18, you won’t be able to log in. Your Hotel Hideaway account will not be deleted – it will simply remain locked until your 18th birthday.

3. When is the change happening?

We can’t share an exact date right now, but we’re planning for it to happen before January 1st, 2026.

4. Will I lose my items, payment history, or progress if I’m under 18 and my account is locked?

No – nothing will change. Everything stays exactly as it is. Your avatar, items, outfits, purchases, and progress will all remain intact and ready for you when you return after you turn 18.

5. Does becoming 18+ mean new “adult content” is coming?

No. This age rating change doesn’t mean we’re adding explicit or NSFW content. Hideaway will remain the same hotel you know and love – we’re simply making sure the game is correctly rated and designed for its existing adult audience, while remaining compliant with emerging legislation within the countries our players are based.

6. Will moderation or rules change?

Our rules and safety standards will remain the same, but the adult-only environment helps us keep the Hotel clearer, safer, and more streamlined for everyone.

7. Do I need to do anything?

If you’re already 18 or older, no action is required. Your access will continue normally. If you’re under 18, you will not be able to access the Hotel.

8. How will this appear in the app stores?

Our App Store, Google Play pages, and Steam Store page will update to show the new 18+ age rating. This won’t affect existing adult players.
